Spybot – Search & Destroy
Running Spybot – Search & Destroy
Spybot – Search & Destroy does not continuously monitor your computer to
prevent the installation of spyware; you must run Spybot - to detect and remove
spyware after the spyware has been installed. It is recommended that you run
Spybot – Search & Destroy every week to remove spyware.
1.
Double-click on the Spybot – Search & Destroy icon on your desktop. If
you do not have the icon on your desktop:

In Windows
98/Me/2000 from the Start menu, choose Programs > Spybot – Search & Destroy >
Spybot – Search & Destroy.
o
In Windows
XP, from the Start menu choose All Programs > Spybot – Search &
Destroy > Spybot – Search & Destroy.
2.
Click
Search for Updates.
3.
When
Spybot has finished checking for updates, ensure all updates are
checked.

Click Download Updates.
5.
After the
update process is complete, click Search & Destroy.
6.
Click Check for problems.
7.
After
scanning has completed, click Fix
selected problems.
8.
Confirmation, click Yes.
9.
Confirmation, click OK.
10.
Exit
Spybot – Search & Destroy by click in the
X button in the upper right
corner of the window.
